Maybe the Stereotype is Wrong
From “get off my lawn,” to, “come inside for some lemonade,” maybe our popular assumptions about aging people are all wrong.
I recently read about this study which found that oxytocin increases in people as they age, which actually leads people to be kinder—not grumpier, as is often stereotyped—as we get older. When I think about the elders in my own life, this certainly tracks.
This made me think about what a friend of mine told me the other day about his thoughts on the demographics of mainline churches.
