I've been looking for anyone spiritually minded to address what's happening in our country now. First, how was it possible for evangelical Christian pastors to tell their parishioners to vote for a very unchristian mess of a man simply because he promised to do them favors. As if Jesus would have made that recommendation. It seems so transactional. And second, is there no regret for that now that they see what they've done or are they still reveling in their "win"?
You're not alone, Linda. Many of us (although sadly, not enough) have the same feeling of betrayal. The evangelical Christians that raised, taught, and led us for so long, have now done a total 180 on what they once said they stood for.
I love this beautiful man. ❤️ Colby, l have discovered the real problem in the world. It's the "Image of the Beast." The right-wing is all bigotry, because of false FOX prophets and thieves, like Trump & Putin. The left is all idolatry. Sex, violence, fantasy, pornograhy, all coming through...you guessed it, the Image of the Beast. Compare Exodus & Rev 13:16 & Matt 5:29. The Mark of the Beast is SIN. We must be born again. John 3. How? Faith comes by HEARING THE WORD. FAITH DIES BY NOT HEARING & BY DISOBEYING HIS ONE COMMAND TO LOVE ❤️ Turn off the Beast & turn on Jesus. This Trump abomination ends in Revelation 18. Rapture, desolation of the Whore, then the return (see Zechariah 14. It’s a nuclear holocaust that God's rescuing His people from. Keep looking up, our redemption draws near.
Somewhere along the way, “Christ” got replaced with “culture war cosplay” and nobody in the pews noticed because the fog machine was on full blast. You’re absolutely right—if our faith doesn’t sound like Jesus, look like Jesus, or smell faintly of sandalwood and scandal like Jesus, then maybe we’re worshiping a brand, not a Savior.
Appreciate you launching this convo in podcast form. We’ve had enough sermons that sound like campaign ads. Looking forward to a space where “Christian” stops meaning “loudest voice in the room” and starts meaning “radical love in the streets.”
May the podcast bring holy trouble to all the right places.
If you get up to Seattle I'll buy lunch. Love to have a conversation
Deal!
